Just a quick update from under the tent:
Ruthie: is feeling better. She's officially got another tooth, and finally can breathe again. She's started copying our inflection with her babbling, and it's hilarious. She's super-duper close to crawling, but currently is getting around with a "downward dog" kind of movement - she planks, then goes up into a downward dog pose and takes teeny tiny steps, then lowers back down into a plank and back to the ground. Her abs rock.
Theo: has taken to calling me "Bomb" and not "Mom", which is almost too cute to correct. I mean, who doesn't want to be called the bomb? ;)
Nicholas: is learning to read like a little genius. This boy seems uber motivated by the promise of his own Nook when he's able to read independently, because he's constantly asking me for more reading lessons and practice. We're flying through his kindergarten lesson plans because of it, and I need to start looking for something to follow it with!
Graham: is rocking the gymnastics this season. He also likes to change lyrics to the music we listen to around here. For example, today's version of Les Mis included (word change is emphasized):
"Will you give all you can give
So that our banner may advance
Some will fall and some will live
Will you stand up and pee your pants?
The blood of the martyrs
Will water the meadows of France!"
Oh, boys.
Joseph: He's really coming into his own at gymnastics, too. He's having his best season so far, and has had really solid, all-around performances. He's also launched his own little business, which you can read more about here.
